Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Happy New Year!!! I hope all of you enjoyed your Winter Break and had a relaxing New Year's Eve. Now that we are back at school all eyes are focused on the upcoming FCAT. The first test our 4th graders will take will be on February 9th. This test is the writing portion of the FCAT also know as The Florida Writes test. This is a timed, 45 minute writing test where the students will be given a writing prompt. A passing score is a 3, with a perfect score being a 6. The goal is for all of our students to score a 3 or above on this test. We have been working toward this goal since the first day of school and will continue to do so for the next few weeks.

If you haven't done so already please stop by the front office to get your log in and password for the Parent Portal. This will allow you to have 24 hour access to your child's grades. I input grades as soon as an assignment is completed and graded, usually within 24 hours. So you will be able to see right away how your child did on those tests you have been helping them study for. Also, remember to check our calendar frequently it is filled with a lot of great information like,  homework assignments, fundraiser information and upcoming events.
