Agendas

Students are asked to bring their agendas and homework folders to school each day and home each afternoon.  Agendas are used as a primary form of communication between home and school.  Please feel free to send any notes or requests for me in the agenda.  Daily behavior grades will be noted in the agenda.  Please check and sign agendas each evening.

Homework

Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday. Most homework should not take more than 15 minutes to complete.

While late homework will be accepted for partial credit, the work sent home reflects the learning that has gone on in the classroom, and is used in the discussion and teaching. Students who do not complete homework in a timely fashion will miss much of the benefit of doing the work.

Classroom Behavior Expectations:

We will be using CHAMPs to define our classroom behavior.
For each activity or center, we will CHAMP out the expectations:
C - Conversation
H - Help
A - Activity
M - Movement
P - Participatation

Attendance:

Attendance is extremely important to your child's educational growth and development. School begins promptly at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Children who are absent miss vital discussion and exploration time that cannot be "made up" outside of class. Students who arrive late, or are picked up early from school not only miss out on lessons, but are disruptive to instruction as they have to be brought "up to speed" with the rest of the class. In order to make the most of the educational experience, please make every effort to ensure your child arrives at school on time every day.
