Dear Parents,

I would like welcome your child to my fourth grade Reading/Language Arts Class. I am looking

 forward to helping him/her embark on a new learning adventure. Our class will be

both challenging and fun. Your child will beco part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this school year.
 

 

Since lifelong success depends in part on self discipline, we have

developed a Classroom
Discipline Plan that affords every student guidance in making good

decisions about his or her
behavior. This creates an opportunity to learn in a positive,

nurturing class environment. Your
child deserves the best educational climate possible for

his or her growth, and we know that
together, we will make a difference in this process. The

plan below outlines classroom rules,
rewards, and consequences for both appropriate and 

i nappropriate behavior
.

Classroom Rules

1. Follow directions first time given.

2. Keep hands, feet, objects, and disruptions to yourself.

3. Complete work in a timely manner.

4. Talk at appropriate time and level.

5. Use appropriate school language.

 

Consequences

1 st offense Warning

2 nd offense The student's card is flipped once. This will cause the student to loose five minutes of free time.

 

3 rd offense Card is flipped for a second time, student will loose 10. minutes of free time.

 

4 th offense The student must call parent explaining behavior.

 

 

 

 

Any student displaying severe behavior  problems will be sent to the office with a referral.

 

 


Rewards

 

Positive notes, positive phone calls, verbal praise, special privileges, free time, stickers and

treats.

 

We will keep you informed on a daily basis of your child’s behavior in class and ask you to

sign their agenda nightly. This plan has already been discussed with your child, but we would appreciate it if you would

review it with him or her before signing the form below and returning it to school.
