We have just completed the FCAT Writes this morning in 4th grade.  Our students worked diligently for sixty minutes to complete the task in front of them.  I was not in any classroom, but I know the teachers have been working hard to prepare them for this experience.  I know they did their best this morning.

The next big event at Sheffield is our Boosterthon Fundraiser.  We began doing this fundraiser last year and earned dollars for technology.  We are going to try again to earn more dollars for technology for the classrooms this year.  We are asking for your support as your children ask you to pledge dollars to them for our Fun Run on March 11th.  On Friday, we have our kick-off with our students and encourage them to get pledges from the family and friends.  The theme for the Bossterthon campaign this year is "Highway USA"  We want to try to get pledges from all over the United States.  If we can do this a special treat awaits the students.

This fundraiser also encourages our students to be good citizens and do the right things each day and make positive choices.  Positive social behavior is something we want to see with all of our students.  The Boosterthon Team will be coming in to encourage our children as we move through the eight (8) days of this campaign.  The culminating event is the Fun Run which all can participate in.  We hope that you come out in support of your child's class as they complete their run on Friday.  Our PTA will be here with water to keep them refreshed.
