2009 - 2010

Hello Manatee family and friends…2009 was a magical year for making community connections. As we begin to embark on a futuristic journey I can hardly contain my excitement! Enterprise teachers, students, staff and families thank you for your stellar commitment to excellence.


September

We are off and running! Students have been busy working on Narrative Writing, FAIR Testing, Anti-Bullying strategies, and developing school SPIRIT! The two strategies of Happy Kids that ELA has worked on are Synergizing and Think "Win-Win". PTA and SAC have been busy behind the scenes getting their committees set up. Thank you to the many WONDERFUL volunteers at Enterprise, we are looking forward to increasing our MANATEE herd of volunteers with orientation complete.

 

October

The SUNSHINE MATH PROGAM is an enrichment program designed to help students become “excellent” students of mathematics. It is entirely optional for students. The majority of the program is problem solving.

Your child will be given a worksheet of problems on Monday; they will have until Friday to solve them completely on his/her own. You may read the problems to your child if he/she is having difficulty with the words, but that is the only help that should be provided. On Friday, the teacher will collect the worksheet.

Volunteers will check and score the child’s work the following week and will return it to the child’s teacher. The teacher will pass the work back to the student. If the child would like an explanation of why they missed a particular problem they can schedule an independent conference time with their teacher to discuss the problem or the teacher may choose to use that problem as a class demonstration.

2010 is here! This month we are so bsuy getting back into the swing of things:

PTA sponsored author Chris Soenpiet to visit ELA on January 12. remeber to bring in your books so that he can sign them...how exciting.

How many of you have seen the COOL Native American items that are on display in Buffalo's? We invite you to join us there January 26, 2010 at 5:30.

Random acts of kindness are a great way to show someone that you care.

FCAT time is here. Help your student remember to get plenty of sleep and eat a helathy breakfast so they can maintain their FOCUS and STAMINA.                              GO MANATEES!

As we return from Spring Break we welcome RADIO Disney and kickoff physical educatin week with FIELD DAY. Again, a special thanks to Coach K and the many dedicated VOLUNTEERS to help to make events like this possible.
