Preparing for an aviation career is a very demanding and requires discipline. Students at Frank H. Peterson start with a solid foundation of aviation basics, and move on to specialized areas of the field including Air Traffic Controller, Pilot Technology and Operations.

 

Students in the aviation program who complete Private Pilot Ground School can earn industry certification after passing the FAA knowledge test for private pilot.

 

Junior and seniors can earn twelve hours of academic college credit from Florida State College at Jacksonville toward an Associate of Science degree in Operations (Air Traffic Controller), Pilot Technology, or Aviation Maintenance Technology.

Mr.Slate  graduated form Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Professional Aeronautics, a double minor in Aerospace Aviation Safety and Business. He holds a FAA Commercial Pilot License, Advance Instrument Ground Instructor and is an FAA Appointed Aviation Safety Counselor.


He began flying in Bradenton Florida in 1962, His flying experience included aerial news assignements in many countries and from 2003-2007 was the pilot and camerman for Fox News (SkyFox 30) and CBS 47 (Sky47) His work often appeared on all three national networks as well as CNN.

Mr Slate is an Adjunct Aviation Instructor , Florida State College at Jacksonville at the Aviation Center of Excellance, Cecil Field.
