My name is Cindy Tsengas, and I have an addiction that I need to be up front about. I have this need for hugs. For many years, I tried to control this need through my family, but eventually I needed more. You see, I truly believe that hugs cure a lot of what ails us. I discovered that in teaching, you receive almost an unlimited amount of hugs! Both in school and out of school, no matter where I am, I find children that I know! It is an incredible thing! In the twelve years that I have been at Chets I have felt the love of so many children. There is no better way to lift my spirits. I thank all of you for sharing these wonderful children with all of us.

     Teaching is a second career for me. I was fortunate to be able to spend twelve years as a stay at home mom, for my daughters Katherine (24 years) and Michelle (21 years).

     I began my teaching career at Chets as a substitute teacher. After two years of getting my feet wet in the teaching profession, I began to teach part-time. I spent the next six years as a Media Specialist, teaching the primary grades, and I also served as a Safety Net teacher. Four years ago I finally made the transition into a full-time teacher.  This will be my second time teaching 2nd. grade math, science and social studies. I am looking forward to getting to know both children and parents alike!
