Teaching, like motherhood, is one of the most rewarding experiences.  It is so fulfilling to receive a note from a student saying, “Thank you for being my reading teacher.  I didn’t like reading before, but now I love it.  I also hated writing, but now I love it. I’m writing every chance I get.”  What a reward it is to know you have impacted someone’s life!

I have had the privilege of teaching for twenty-three years.  My teaching career began in first grade.  I loved the enormous growth I saw in my students.  They progressed from learning new sight words to eventually reading paragraphs.

After 6 years teaching first grade, I taught third and fourth grade.  It was such a great experience looping my classes.  I really enjoyed learning about each child and helping them develop to their fullest potential.  I also took such pride in seeing my students achieve great results on the Reading FCAT and Florida Writes test.

I am married to John, my husband of thirty-three years.  We have four children and seven grandchildren.  My life would not be complete without my spirituality.
