Dear NJROTC Parents/Guardians:

"NJROTC ANNUAL MILITARY PERFORMANCE EVALUATION"

Per the Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET), an annual inspection/evaluation of each Naval Science (NJROTC) unit is required...The annual inspection is a unit's opportunity to showcase their personal pride and collective teamwork developed through the year.

This year, our program evaluation is scheduled for Tuesday, 14DEC10, from 7:30am-1:45pm ~ the date was selected before the end of the last school year...This is an "all-day - graded event" during school hours that requires ALL Cadets to ATTEND in UNIFORM, subsequently missing core classes.

The evaluation is also known as the "Area Manager Inspection"  (AMI), and will be conducted by Captain Robert Sanders, the Executive Officer of Naval Air Station Jacksonville...Capt Sanders will evaluate our "entire" NJROTC program with emphasis on Cadets during a personnel inspection (in uniform), color guard performance, drill (basic & armed) competition, award presentation, "pass & review," and individual "Cadet" interviews & briefs...Ms. Smith, Administrators, Teachers, Parents/Guardians are invited & encouraged to view the Cadets during the Pass & Review  evaluation which will be conducted about 10:00am at the Football Stadium.

As with every facet of our program dynamics (academics, drill, athletics, air rifle, orienteering, school & community involvement, etc.) we compete against 63 NJROTC schools in our "Area" (NE Florida & Georgia) for Unit Awards...In preparation for this event, we will have a "practice" AMI to be held during 3rd & 4th periods on Friday, 10DEC10...Cadets will earn double uniform grade for attending both events…Excused absences will be on a case-by-case basis ~ our goal is 100% participation…Those who fail to attend the AMI will receive a grade of zero & subsequently not allowed to attend the annual Military Ball that will be held on Friday, 18MAR11.

Once again, your support is greatly appreciated.
