TEST: 

--Students took the 3rd Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) test of the school year the week of January 25th.  Ask your student if they made gains in their reading Lexile!  :)

--FCAT Writes for all 8th graders will be on February 9th.  PLEASE encourage your child to get ample sleep the night before this important test!

Due Dates:
--Students are expected to complete THREE Reading Counts book Quizzes, 3 Graphic Organizers, and 3 Quick Writes worksheets each quarter.  Third quarter due dates:
Book ONE is due Friday February 12th
Book TWO is due Friday March 5th
Book THREE is due Friday March 3rd

Homework:  Students should be reading 20 - 30 minutes EVERY night.  This includes homework for other classes, if they have reading assignments.  If not, please encourage them to pleasure read---comic books, magazines, and the Internet count!  ALL reading is practice...and practice makes perfect!  :)
