Hello Stellar Wolf parents and students!  Welcome to my website.  My name is Michele Sarkees.  I've been teaching in Duval County for the past 28 years.  I am a graduate of the University of North Florida.  I am certified to teach English 6-12 with added certifications in Gifted K-12 and ESOL.  I also have the Middle School Endorsement.

I am married and have one daughter, Mary Caye, a math teacher at Oceanway Middle School.  I also have a grandson, John, age nine.

I am the proud owner of two beautiful cats, Cato and Moe, who are siblings.  My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.  My favorite movie is Splender in the Grass with Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty.  My favorite television show is Dancing with the Stars.  I love early morning walks, reading, spending time with my grandson, and my job as 6th grade Language Arts teacher on the Stellar Wolves' team.

My favorite sayings are "Hard work pays off," "Get out of the problem and into the solution," and "Attitude of gratitude."

My goal for my students this year is for everyone to leave my class prepared for success in the seventh grade.  My personal goals are to treat every student as I would want my grandson's teacher to treat him, and to have a personal relationship with every student and parent on the Stellar Wolves' team.
