Classroom Procedures:

     1.    Class begins when the bell rings.

Students are to be seated and ready to work with their materials on their desks.

Materials required daily are:      Daily Planner

Three Ring Binder With Section Dividers

                                                                     Graph Paper

Pencils (at least 2 sharpened, black lead only)

                                                                     Blue/Black Ink Pens

                                                                     Calculator

3-Prong Pocket Folder (will remain in the classroom)

In addition, a hand held pencil sharpener and a ruler should be brought to class when needed.
A class set of algebra textbooks is in the classroom for student use.

     2.    Students will follow all classroom and school rules.

     3.    Students are responsible for completing all assignments.

Students should copy the day’s assignment in their planner upon their arrival to class.

Each assignment is denoted by a number and a date (for example, #6 on 8/24).

Students who have been absent are responsible for noting and completing the assignments
that they missed when they return to class.

     4.    All work submitted by students shall include the following heading in the right hand corner of each page:
First and Last Names of Student

                                                            Math – Period #

                                                            Date

Assignment # and Page # (from textbook)

     5.    Students are to file notes, classwork, and homework in their three ring binder each quarter so that these
materials may be used to study for quizzes and tests.  Parents are encouraged to view their child’s work
throughout the school year.  Tests, quizzes and some other work products (e.g., unit tool kits or reference guides)
will be filed in the pocket folder that will remain in the classroom.

Unless otherwise indicated, students are to include both questions (problems) and answers (solutions)
on assignments, quizzes and tests.  Students must show all work.

     6.    Class ends when students are dismissed by the teacher (not the bell).

Quarterly Grading Criteria:

     1.    Classwork/Homework - Assignments including warm-ups will be collected and graded.  EFFORT counts.
Incomplete or unsatisfactory work is not acceptable.  Assignments must be submitted when due.
Daily assignments are due the following day.  While make-up assignments are encouraged,
assignments that are submitted more than a week after they are due will not be accepted.
Assignments must be written in pencil (black lead), or black or blue ink to receive credit.  Assignments in
other colors will be returned to the student ungraded and must be resubmitted in order to receive credit for them.
Graphs must be made on graph paper only.

     2.    Quizzes - Quizzes may or may not be announced.

     3.    Tests – Tests are generally given at the end of each unit.

Students are expected to attend class daily.

Students are to come to class on time with all required materials and ready to work.

Students are expected to respond to the teacher’s questions and complete assigned work.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year and wish all students the very best.

Let’s all work together and have a great year.

                                                                        Thank you.
