Class Descriptions & Details:
* Reading Workshop willl take place 3 times a week. The students will journal in their Reading Journals (composition book) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
* Writing Workshop will take place 2 times a week. The students will journal in their Writing Sourcebooks (composition book) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
* Students should always have a free choice book of any genre (age appropriate) to read in class daily.
* Students will be instructed to keep track of books that they have read throughout the year on their Reading Logs located in their binders.
* The students will be working out of their Literature Book as well as the Writing & Grammar Book this year.
* Language Arts Portfolios will be maintained throughout the school year. Portfolios are to remain in the classroom until the end of the year. They will contain writing samples and finished products. Parents are welcome to view student portfolios upon request.

* You should have 20 Reading Journals & Sourcebook Entries by December 16th.
*PLEASE DONATE XEROX PAPER IF YOU CAN!! THANK YOU!
* Students are required to bring a free choice reading book to class with them EVERY DAY along with their binders. Each day, students will need something to write with and something to write on!!
* Using my ONLINE LITERATRUE TEXTBOOK link along with the ONLINE TEXTBOOK DIRECTIONS to access the Literature Textbook, please view the new Literature Textbook online.
* If a student is asked to bring in a photograph for any assignment, please make sure that the photograph can be replaced or is a duplicate.

25 Book Campaign
Students must start reading immediately towards their 25 Book Goal. Students will be given credit for 5 books that they have read over the summer toward their 25 Book Goal. The deadlines are as follows:
6 Books - October 21st - Passed
12 Books - January 19th - Passed
18 Books - March 25th
25 Books - June 8th
