We started this year off a bit rocky mostly because of the new schedule.  Students, parents and teachers are all adjusting.  I believe that we are all beginning to adjust nicely and the second nine weeks looks to be very promising.

Though there are some promising adjustments being made, historically the second nine weeks tends to see a drop in student averages.  There are several breaks that prevent continuity and we struggle with that year after year.  Students need be practicing skills at home during these breaks to ensure that the teachers do not waste time reteaching material.

Keep in mind that because of the new schedule students lose 25% of their Math class (equivalent to an entire nine weeks!), yet they have 100% of the FCAT in February.  We need to keep our goal in mind and continue to work towards it.
