Starting February 1st, we will be reading another novel - And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie - for two months. Students will need to have a copy of this novel for reading at home. The Florida Department of Education posted the 2010 FCAT Sample Test Materials to the FDOE website in the following location: http://fcat.fldoe.org/fcatsmpl.asp. PARENT GRADE PORTAL
The "Parent Portal" for checking your child's grades IS NOW available. Please contact the Ms. Miller in the main office for your student's sign-in and password. You may also email/call the teachers for grade updates or have your child pick-up a paper copy of the "Weekly Progress Report" from me (or Miss Taylor) on Friday mornings to take to each teacher all day long.
"Creative Writing Workshop"
Continuing every MONDAY at 9:00 AM, I will be holding a voluntary "Creative Writing Workshop" for students who wish to improve their writing and creative thinking skills. The workshops will be held every Monday (except for holidays). Students will need to have a NEW composition notebook in which to keep their creative stories. We are done with our first story titled "Moe's Cafe," our second story called "Mr. Jones Bad Day,"and are now starting the third story - titles vary depending on the student.
Dates for 2010: 1/4, 1/11, and 1/25. Then we will switch to Tuesday mornings: 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23.
