Welcome to Reading with Mr. Brinkley!

Intensive Reading is a "double block" class, 90 minutes long, everyday.

Supplies needed:
A 1" or 1 1/2" or 2"  three-ring binder with 5 tab dividers
Pencils and Erasers
Notebook paper

Welcome classroom supplies donations:

Books - age and content appropriate
Typing/copy paper
Kleenex facial tissue
Paper towels
Hand sanitizer


Students will have Homework Everyday - seven days a week:
Read at least 20 minutes and complete a Reading Log Entry!


Current classroom focus:
     Scholastic Read 180  Intensive Reading Intervention program-
          Students will focus on using various reading strategies to improve their reading skills.
          Students will be working in their rBook to learn more about "context clues" (workshop 8).
          Students will complete at least 4 book quizzes each 9 weeks (on their reading level).
          Students will continue using the interactive computer software.
          
     Continue daily rituals and routines-
          Entering and exiting the room.
          Materials: distributing and collection.
          Book usage procedures.
          Computer usage rules.
          Rotation movement around the room.
          Weekly Vocabulary words.
          Weekly Classroom Reading Logs.
          Weekly Homework Reading Logs.
