Essay Instructions: Compare and contrast the two texts - "The Interlopers" and "Hatfields and McCoys" in an essay of at least four paragraphs. Due Monday/Tuesday (Dec. 14/15)

1. Brainstorm ways the two stories are the same and different. Make lists of each.
2. Select 3-5 of each for your body paragraphs
3. Write a thesis statement (what the essay is about) and a plan statement (how you will tell about your topic) for your introduction.
4. Write your body paragraphs
   1. One paragraph to describe, explain, discuss, elaborate on the similarities between the two articles.
   2. One paragraph to describe, explain, discuss and or elaborate on the differences between the two articles.
5. Wrap the essay up in your conclusion. Do not introduce new information or arguments. Restate without repeating your thesis statement.
