Welcome to American History

We will be studying the Pre-Columbian era to the present this year.  Reading is the essential key to unlocking our content.  All students must keep up with their reading assignments in the textbook to be successful.  All reading of the text must be done at home, so students always have reading homework to do.  The first nine weeks will cover chapters 1-12.  Spiral ring journals are used every day to write a short response paragraph over a review question from the previous day.  Students must have at least 6 sentences.  School wide Knowledge for College information is also copied in the journal daily.  At the end of each class, students complete an exit activity, usually 3-2-1,which means 3 things I learned from the lesson today, 2 things I found interesting and 1 question I have.  A 3 ring notebook is kept in standard classes with all work included from the daily lessons.
