Grade Recovery for 2nd Nine Weeks/First Semester: Earth Space Science is now on Compass Odyssey.  Students who have earned a D or F for the 2nd quarter, or who have failed the first semester, are eligible.  An application form needs to be filled out, signed by a parent, and returned to me. Students can see me for an application.  Once I have received the completed application, I will set up the grade recovery course for the student.  Much of it can be done from home, but I will require students to remain on campus after school at least one day per week, from 2 to 4, to work on the course.  As always, it must be complete before the end of the present grading period. 

Climate Chapter Challenge: Directions for the Climate Chapter Challenge were issued prior to the Holiday break.  This will allow those students so inclined to work on it over the holidays.  It will be due one week after completion of the final Climate Activity.

***Students/Parents keep in mind that in cases of student absence, the course continues on and students are expected to keep up by spending some cozy time with their textbook at home.  We quiz every other activity, usually after activities 2, 4, and 6.  Students, if you have been absent on day 2 of an even numbered activity, the odds excellent that are you are going to get handed a quiz when you walk in the door the next class period.  You are responsible for any material covered in the chapter up to that point.  If a student has missed multiple excused days, I will allow a one day postponement of any quiz/test that has been administered, at the student's request.  We test at the end of each chapter, usually the class period after taking the last quiz of the chapter.  Students should endeavor to maintain good situational awareness of what we are doing and come to class prepared!***
