The second nine weeks will be fantastic in Junior English!  Students are going to explore the foundations of the American Dream through creating their own op-ed page.  Students will learn how and why editorials and letters to the editor are written, then they will then synthesize this information into their own understandings and create their own op-ed page.

     The first assignment is writing an Editorial.  It is due on Nov. 19.
     
     Students will be creating an editorial cartoon, letters to the editor, and their own op-ed page later in the quarter.

     We will also be working on Writing Strategies and Reading Strategies for both the SAT and the FCAT.  Students will be test-ready!

     You will need to bring pen and paper to class every day.  You may take your Springboard book home this quarter to use the guidelines in it while working on the op-ed project.
