Happy February
 

• Welcome in the month of February
• Homework will resume this week
• No School February 15th 

 Math
In math we are finishing Fair Shares which are fractions.  We are still working on multiplication facts, please help your child nightly study.


Reading
In reading please hold on to the study guides that come home weekly.  They will help you and your child  know what to expect for the week.  It also has their vocabulary words and definitions that will be tested every Thursday.  It also tells the reading strategies, language art skills, and the focus on spelling.
Please keep in mind a book responses must be turned in once a week.  By now your child should have 1 books towards the 3rd nine weeks.

Science/Social Studies
  In Social Studies we will be focusing on Black History and learning about important African Americans in history.
 

Study Island
Our class has got Study Island up and going.  If students get a chance please try and have them get on reading and math for a half an hour each a week.  Students only go onto the topics that we have covered so far.  Please take advantage of this program over the holiday break.  Also, I have put activities on Destination Success to help students with fractions and also reading strategies.


FCAT Explorer and Destination Success
By now students should be working weekly on any of these three computer preparations for FCAT.  If you do not have the internet I will be getting students on in the mornings.  Please call and make arrangements with me.  Thank you!
