Medical Parents and Students - As you may know Mondays at Darnell are know as "Medical Mondays". On these days teachers dress in medical attire, normally a lab coat or scrubs. In an effort to promote the medical atmosphere I am asking all medical students to dress in their scrubs on Mondays they attend medical class, other Mondays will not count as I will not see the students. I will give 2 points extra credit for this. NOTE: Lab days are required days that scrubs must be worn.

Students - Update 2/27 - WOW I can't believe how much you "guys" have done already this year!! I hope each of you really feel like you have expanded you knowledge and skills of the medical arts. For the majority of the remaining 7th grade year you will be focusing on various skill developments. We are already exploring the basics of vital signs and will be moving further into understanding them. After we have completed our understanding of the cardiovascular system we will begin to dig into First-Aid and CPR. During that time we use use AcitiveInspire lessons, medical vocabulary lessons, blood pressure training, various thermometers, lung and heart assessment, a heart dissection, and Red Cross First-Aid/CPR.

Parents - Let me first say a HUGE thank you in taking the time to commit to you child's academic success. I will try to keep the information in the parent portal as up-to-date as possible. I would like for you to refer to it as often as needed. However, due to the nature of the subject matter, at times grades will seem stagnant. This is because projects may take a longer period of time to complete or a lab may cover a few days. If you ever have a question regarding this please feel free to contact me. Additionally, if a grade seems lower than expected it's likely because I am missing a students assignment. I will accept late work, however, it will be for reduced credit.
