Work Plan

 

We are trying something new in our classroom for literacy centers.  As you know, our students are working on pickles for Fun Friday !   Each Monday, they will get a weekly work plan.   This work plan details what they will work on each day during Centers.  When they have finished a particular activity, students will highlight it and move on to the next activity for the day.  At the end of the week, Mrs. Smith will look at the work plans and the completed activites to determine who is on pickles and who needs to ketchup.   Students who made the choice to play ketchup will need to finish their work plan/activites at home.   This lets you, the parent, know what he or she needs to work on and you can discuss better work habits in school so that they will always be on pickles.

Homework Policy

 

Only a couple more homework weeks left...be sure to keep working hard during the week completing your homework.   All briefcase of books need to be turned in too.   I have a lot of missing books.

Behavior

 

We are a CHAMPS based classroom.   Rituals and rountines were taught the first week of school, and the students did very well!   They did so well in fact, administration treated all students to snow cones!      In order to have smooth sailing(a smiley face in their agenda), students will be expected to follow CHAMPS for each block in our schedule.

5 smiley faces= special snack during recess

4 smiley faces= treat from the treasure box

3 smiley faces= candy from the candy jar

2 smiley faces= a sticker from the sticker box

1-0 smiley faces= phone call to parent/conference
